Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab) have been an IPL franchise since 2008, owned by KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited (Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta, Karan Paul). They are yet to win the title but have been runners-up twice: in 2014 and most recently in 2025, where they topped the league stage but lost the final to RCB by 6 runs . For the 2026 season, the team is led by captain Shreyas Iyer and coached by Ricky Ponting. Key players include Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Marcus Stoinis. Their primary home ground is the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.
